In the early 1990s, there was a chance that the Pinellas Park Christmas Parade would be no more. A tradition since 1972, the parade as we know it today was one of the highlights of the year in the City of Pinellas Park. In September of 1994, Celebrate Pinellas Park, Inc. was founded and incorporated to insure that the parade would continue for years to come.
That was 21 years ago and the parade continues to grow each and every year. In fact, it’s one of the few remaining hometown parades in the Tampa Bay area and is one of the largest Christmas parades in Central Florida. The Christmas Parade Committee meets on the second Tuesday of the month in August, September, October, and November in preparation for the event.
In 2010, Celebrate Pinellas Park, Inc. was approached by the Town of Kenneth City to assist them with their Fourth of July Parade. A successful collaboration the first year ended with the event being rained out, but was a huge success in 2011. Celebrate Pinellas Park, Inc. will continue to collaborate with Kenneth City for many years to come.
